Kiara Allen MA, LPCC
Hello, I’m Kiara Allen, a queer, biracial therapist from Denver, CO. My journey into mental health counseling was inspired by my own struggles with anxiety and trauma growing up. Through my own healing journey, I felt called to help others navigate their own paths toward healing. I founded Becoming You Counseling with the mission of offering a compassionate, strengths-based, and trauma-informed space for both teens and adults.
In my practice, I help clients work through challenges like perfectionism, social anxiety, overthinking, difficulty relaxing, negative self-talk, people-pleasing, and feeling constantly on edge. My therapeutic approach is gentle and integrative, combining relational and IFS therapy, mindfulness, humanistic principles, and inner child work. Given the profound impact trauma and anxiety have on both mind and body, I utilize both top-down (cognitive) and bottom-up (body-based) techniques to promote healing on all levels. This approach allows me to help clients connect their mind, body, and spirit, creating more authentic and holistic growth.
I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals facing a range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, OCD, anger, grief, identity exploration, and major life transitions. I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Colorado, Denver, and am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate under supervision. Whether you’re seeking in-person or virtual sessions, my goal is to create a safe, nurturing environment where you can explore, heal, and become your truest self.
Currently I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC .0021118) and I am under the supervision of Troyann I. Gentile, Ph.D., LPC (0011391) .
